The Triaparator is an interactive, kinetic sculpture from the Steampunk Treehouse

The Triaparator consists of three function brass apertures that can be opened and closed by a handle at their top. As the apertures open and close intricate pointers coupled to the leaves trace out patterns over the cryptic brass etchings.

The Triaparator is mysterious device used for some manner of communication or observation.

I designed and built The Triaparator in 2007.
At the time I knew nothing about apertures at all and only after reverse engineering several did I arrive at a synthesized design that I could fabricate.

They became instant Steampunk icons.

Since 2007 they have well traveled and widely displayed.

Finally, they are for sale.
